how to make friends guide

Hard time making friends?

As an introvert, my biggest challenge is finding real friends.

I created this guide to help you figure out how to do that.

Even if you have social anxiety.

Why This Guide?

Because it took me a decade to have a handful of good friends in my life & I wish I had figured out how to create those connections faster.

Here are some reasons why it took me so long

  • I’ve never been the life of the party

  • I’m the total opposite of an extrovert

  • It takes a lot to make me laugh

  • Most people see me as being cold (I have a thoughtful resting bitch face)

  • I don’t enjoy going to parties or drinking (there go all my prospects for friends)

  • I’m picky with who I let into my life (I don’t collect people for the sake of it)

If this sounds like you, then you’ll benefit from this guide (and I’d like to be your friend).

I wrote this after years of struggling and thinking that I was the “problem”.
Once I realized that I don’t actually suck as a human, it became so much easier to make friends.

REAL friends.

What’s In It?

Part 1 – Where on Earth do I find “my people”?

Let’s be real here, making friends is really really REALLY hard, especially when you’re not armed with all of the social skills you’d like (ahem, dang those extroverts!). In this section, I just want to change your perspective on how you view the whole process of making friends. With the added bonus of giving you some ideas of where to find them since it’s just one big game of hide and seek.

Part 2 – Friend targeted, now what?

Let’s continue being real. Even if you do find a worthwhile person to be friends with, you actually have to be open enough with them in order to connect. Yikes. I’m going to give you the tools you need to feel confident once you’re actually facing that person you want to be friends with. These “tools” have helped me tremendously and took the burden off my shoulders when it actually came to the execution part of the process.

Who’s It For?

If you’ve ever sat on the couch feeling sorry for yourself for not having any friends, then jackpot!

If you’re an introvert, or if you have Social Anxiety, the advice and tools provided are meant for you. Also, if you’ve ever felt like you were the problem or lost as to where to find friends, then this should help you. Mostly, it’s for anyone and everyone that doesn’t want to eventually rely on Robo-Friends (although that sounds really tempting).

I totally get what you’re saying.

I’m a homebody and love spending time on my own.
But I’ve come to realize how important friends are to my sanity.
To my mental health. To my happiness.
A good friend is worth everything in the world.
And this has never been more clear to me than
when I found myself in a new country,
feeling terribly lonely and alone.

I knew I had to find a way to make friends.
