I wrote this newsletter on Monday.

And then I decided on a whim to make it into a video. Now, with 5 hours to go until 2021 on the East Coast here, I’m publishing it.

My goal, and vision, for 2020 was to bring a Youtube Channel to life. I decided that I couldn’t let the year-end without actually making that happen. So, in the past 4 days, I taped the scenes, edited them, did the voiceovers, and compiled them.

I worked with a vision and goal in mind. To bring this newsletter to life. I would LOVE it if you watched it, and even better if you commented on the video.

And if you’re not into video, read the below newsletter as it’s almost word for word.

Thank you all for being here, I’m excited for what’s to come.

It’s the end of the year.

Scratch that. It’s the end of 2020. A year we all looked forward to for one reason or another. Maybe you looked forward to it because you were stepping into a new decade. Or maybe you were excited to remember your child’s birth year. Or maybe you had all these amazing events planned because every big Holiday this year fell either on a Friday or Saturday.

Whatever the reason was, you don’t even care anymore. Because you’re about to tear 2020 a new one.

Instead of the vision you had, you got something completely different. Maybe, like me, your biggest fears came true. You lost your job. Your kids stayed home for an indefinite period of time. You realized the person you’re with isn’t the right one for you. Or you (someone you know) got sick/passed away.

Your fears have become a reality this year.

Or the events that came to pass have made you fearful for what’s around the corner. Now what? Are you supposed to welcome 2021 feeling this way? Feeling small. Like you’re not good enough. Out of control.

No. You want to make your decisions based on your hopes, instead of your fears. So, you have to start believing you are fearless.

Say it with me. I AM FEARLESS. There’s something to be said about screaming it out loud – as if screaming for the universe to hear it makes it a reality. A new foundation to stand upon.

But that’s exactly what you must do, you must become fearless in 2021, just as I need to as well.

So, here’s what we’re going to do, we’re going to do these 5 things together throughout the year, so that at the end of 2021, you’re going to look back and you’re going to be proud and excited for what you’ve achieved, instead of still carrying the burden of 2020 on your shoulders.

#1. Start the year by doing something uncomfortable.

Whether that’s screaming I’m fearless at the top of your lungs, or dancing like a chicken in public, think of something that makes you uncomfortable and do it. One small action can trickle down into many more. Once you get over the hump and you see that you’re capable of doing something you’re scared of, you can move on to the next thing and the next and the next.

#2. Burn your fears.

Write down all the fears you have. The weaknesses you want to overcome. Every single one of them. Tear up that page and burn it down. Let your fears dissipate. Extinguish them into nothingness. They mean nothing to you now. If they continue to linger, keep burning them. The space you’re creating in your mind by not having fears there will now be put to better use.

#3. Visualize the life you want to lead.

The brain can’t tell the difference between something imagined and something that happened. So why not imagine your perfect life? Over and over and over. Maybe you have a vision of working for yourself. With the beach as your office. Begin by smelling the salty air. Hearing the sounds of waves and the seagulls flying above. Seeing yourself in that chair working with an ocean view. Whatever it is, start seeing it and experiencing it every day. Swap the fears-driven mindset to a success-driven one.

#4. Choose a word/mantra for the year

I know I know, even if you had an awesome mantra for 2020, it got ripped into pieces. But it’s still important to begin the year with a fresh mindset. Think about what you want to accomplish, what you want to have happened, and come up with a word you can always fall back upon when things get rough. A reminder of your intention for 2021. My word is “action” with the mantra of “I’ll figure it out no matter what”.

#5. Create a daily ritual

It’s not enough to just say you’re fearless or to visualize what you want. You need to embody these things, and the way you do that is by creating habits to fall back upon. There are many ways you can build great habits, but it all starts with an intention. What are some things you can start implementing throughout your day? It doesn’t even have to take long. Practice journaling every morning or every night to clear your thoughts and keep those fears away. Add in 10 minutes of visualizing yourself at the beach every day. Watch one inspirational video every day to keep yourself going (it goes without saying that you should cut down on news consumption and social media doom scrolling).

Ultimately, we have no idea what 2021 will bring.

We tend to be optimistic about the future, so I’m not going to entertain anything less than good things happening, but in case they don’t go accordingly (again), these five things will keep you in one piece, moving forward on your vision. Fearlessly.

Here’s to an amazing year – I look forward to helping you conquer yourself even more!
